No, seriously. Remember that book 20 of us are writing (and 4 of us crazy people are editing)? It’s almost done! And we need a cover!
That’s where you come in.
We need YOU to make one for us. Yes, YOU. Unless you’re already in the Writers Group (in which case, pass this on to your illustrator friends!). Break out your pencils, paints, collage, embroidery floss, stone, leather, WACOM tablet – basically, whatever medium you like – and draw us something awesome.
This could be you!
That fits this description. And appeals to 10-year-olds. And fits these technical guidelines:
- No typography, please. IMAGES ONLY!
- JPEG file, 72 dpi, at least 500 x 800 megapixels (2000 pixels max). No bigger than 1MB in size, please, or you will murder our inboxes.
- All entries should be named LAST NAME_FIRST NAME.jpg. That’s how we know you sent it!
Anything that doesn’t meet those requirements will not be considered, so please make sure you’ve got all that squared before sending anything to us. You can check out the full list of rules (here). Once you’ve gotten that all sorted out, email your entry to events@cmanyc.org and it’ll be judged by a super secret panel of awesome CMA members that I can’t tell you about.

The contest will close at 11:59 pm on Thursday, November 27. Winners will be announced by 11:59 PM December 8, and contacted by CMA that week to confirm their free one-year membership.
You’ve got a little over 2 weeks to enter, folks. Get drawing!
