“What if you were offered an hour of television live every day? Can you imagine what it is like to try to fill that up with something of value? I wanted to give the best that I could.” – Fred Rogers

CMA is very excited to introduce The Fred Rogers Company as our corporate sponsor! Based in Pittsburgh, The Fred Rogers Company produces Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Peg + Cat,and Odd Squad for PBS KIDS as well as Through the Woods for the streaming app Curious World.

EllenDoherty_2016Ellen Doherty, head of Production and Development at The Fred Rogers Company, has been a long-time member of CMA. She said they chose to sponsor CMA as a way to support those interested in building their career in children’s media.

Currently, The Fred Rogers Company’s development slate contains animation, live-action, and puppetry projects for both preschool and elementary school children. It includes projects with children’s television legend Sonia Manzano, celebrated author/illustrator Dan Yaccarino, The Jim Henson Company, and Spiffy Pictures among others.

February 2018 officially marked the 50th anniversary of the premiere of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood. Celebrations in March include a PBS primetime special called Mister Rogers: It’s You I Like (check local listings), the launch of a commemorative Mister Rogers stamp, and special screenings at The Paley Center for Media in NYC and LA. This summer, the feature documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor will premiere nationwide in theaters, and a special collection of Funko vinyl figures and plush inspired by the beloved TV icon will be released.

There’s lot to come in 2018 for The Fred Rogers Company, and we are excited to have them as our corporate sponsor!
